I Promised You the Answer

Giving myself permission to pause: pen in hand, asking God to show me what I couldn't see.
Welcome to this week's Nurturing Nudge
Dear Nurturer,
A Nurturing Space was never meant to be one and done. So after I opened our last one, I did the very thing I'm always encouraging you to do: I gave myself permission to pause. I went back to my Journal Companion from our Releasing the Imposter Nurturing Space, reflected, and made space for God.
I promised you I'd share the question I brought to Him, and the answer I received from the Holy Spirit. So today, I'm keeping that promise, straight from my journal pages.

01 REFLECT
Underneath that question, I wrote down the voices. Maybe you know them too. The ones that sound so reasonable:
"Maybe I'm supposed to stay behind the scenes.""They probably think I'm better at this than I am.""I don't speak because I may say the wrong thing.""She is so much more qualified than I am.""Anybody could have done what I did."

02 RELEASE
Here's what I love about God. I asked Him a question, and He gave me an answer. He didn't answer with a pep talk. He took me to a woman who knew exactly what it felt like to be overlooked.

"She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: 'You are the God who sees me,' for she said, 'I have now seen the One who sees me.'"

Hagar — a woman who felt unseen and pushed aside — called God El Roi: the God who sees.
Now I want to be open with you, because I believe some things in life are constant battles. One of the things that has kept me in bondage has been assuming my first defeat was the end, when it was really the beginning of many battles.
So in my journal, I went to The El Roi Identity Practice and let God correct my lens.
03 RESOLVE

The lie I am locating is:
People need to understand in order to accept me.
The truth I am receiving is:
What and why I'm doing something is good enough! I need clarity before I try to present clarity.
The woman God sees is:
Clear, chosen by God, and designed by Him.
I am seen.I am chosen.I do not have to perform for love.I am already valued.

As I kept moving through the pages, I came to The Woman Beneath the Mask. And this is the answer He gave me:

The Woman Beneath the Mask
What has God revealed about who I am beneath performance or protection?
I am His unique masterpiece.
THE SCRIPTURE GOD GAVE WITH THE ANSWER
"We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!"

What learned behavior is ready to lose its authority?
Shrinking to fit in, when God says I am already in. I don't need to push my way into rooms. I need the move of God to place me in the right spaces for His purpose and destiny for my life.
One quality, truth, or need I am ready to name:
Courage to keep my focus on God. Allow Him to heal, deliver, and set free.
I can be fully seen without performing.
Friend, if you were in that space with us, your Journal Companion isn't a one-time exercise. Go back to it this week, and again any time the old voices get loud. Walk through the pages as often as you need. Don't let the question go quiet. The God who sees you is inviting you out from behind the mask. You don't have to prove you belong.
You already do.

Place one hand over your heart and open the other hand.

Repeat for three breaths.
Then choose one faithful step for the next 24 hours.
