Today's word takes me back to the end of 2024. Let me back up and say 2024 was certainly a year of pressing into God for me. From my cancer journey to my promise of a new grandbaby, an additional son added to our family, the passing of my sister, purchasing a new home, and becoming reacquainted with family, it's a wonder I had any peace of mind.
As I ponder this, I realize that today's message was the one thing I could cling to. Within my faith, there was a certainty that God had a plan and a purpose. I wasn't sure what it was or why it was happening all at once. However, amid everything, my mission for 2025 became increasingly clear. God wants me to create "El Roi's Nurturing Space," a place for leaders to reflect, Release, and recover. Still, I wasn't completely convinced until one day, while browsing Pinterest, I saw something that said,
"I understand the Assignment." It was clearer than ever that the Lord was telling me to move forward NOW!
Let me be clear, I was moving, but with shaky faith. God allowed me to see this phrase to move forward amid everything going on. And so the very first "Nurturing Space" was held on December 31, 2024, at 7 am. Let's talk Assurance.
A– Assurance
When faith is resurrected, it brings a fresh assurance, not just belief, but confidence. This is the assurance and certainty mentioned in Hebrews 11:1. It's a deep knowing that God is who He says He is, and that He has a plan and provision for your life. I was walking by faith, but not truly believing, questioning how I could with everything happening, and whether I wanted to.
Sometimes our faith has limits because we resist believing. Faith can be challenging, requiring assurance in God. This means engaging deeply with God and His word to hear His voice for His assignment, not ours.
This brings to mind Jesus' moment of human connection: "Not my will, but your will be done". Luke22:41
So, how can you have this "Blessed Assurance"?
- Create space and begin to hear God again by reading his word. - (Open your bible to any book)
- Reflect on His Word (what is God saying literally)
- Release His Word Back to Him (Pray that word ask questions, confess, breathe)
- Recover His Rhema (Now) Word (Embrace the word afresh)
"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17
God says he causes all things to work for our good. In 2024, these events led me to confidently and clearly accept my assignment, realizing it was God's purpose for my life.
Let's Pray:
Father, thank you for your faithfulness and the divine plans you have for us. Recovery begins and ends with you. Your word keeps me grounded, and I am grateful for the therapist, coach, and supportive community you have placed in my life. You are our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace. In Jesus' name, I offer this prayer.
